The annual Homeowners' Association Meeting will be held on April 30th, 2012 at 7:00PM at Central Baptist Church in Owasso. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. Your participation is crucial to helping to guide the future of the neighborhood! Please make sure to tell your neighbors!
The early spring means that we are already deep into severe weather season in Green Country! The City of Owasso has two programs to help residents keep informed and stay safe in the event of severe weather.
Code Red Emergency Notification:
The City of Owasso has initiated a Severe Weather Shelter Registration Program. This free, voluntary program allows residents who own a personal severe weather shelter in the Owasso area to register their shelter with the City of Owasso. Shelter registration is part of our effort to be proactive in response to rescue situations that can occur as a result of severe weather.
This program will provide rescue personnel with valuable timesaving location information should a storm shelter exit be blocked by debris or structural damage caused by severe weather. For more information and to register your shelter, click on the link:

A message to all homeowners from Jerry Fowler, Neighborhood Coordinator for the City of Owasso:
With election season upon us again it is a good time for a little refresher on the placement of political signs within the City of Owasso.
Political signs can only be placed on private property and can only be placed with the permission of the property owner. Signs cannot be placed within city right of way, within city properties or within highway right of way. So what this means for you is that your sign should only be placed in your yard, on your business property, or on another person’s private property with their permission. A general rule of thumb is that you should place your sign in your yard between the house and the sidewalk. your sign should only be placed in your yard, on your business property, or on another persons private property with their permission. A general rule of thumb is that you should place your sign in your yard between the house and the sidewalk. To find information on where your property line is try using the following resources: a mortgage survey that you received when you bought your home, county land records, or the City of Owasso GIS available at http://www.cityofowasso.com/.
If you think a sign is illegally placed, please call the City of Owasso. Residents should not take it upon themselves to remove signs from City right of way. For more information please contact the Code Enforcement division of the Community Development Department at 918-376-1500.

Be advised that the HOA has retained the services of an attorney for the purposes of enforcing HOA dues payment, HOA covenant enforcement and all other legal matters related to the HOA.
For those members having outstanding fines due to convenant violations, please note that you will have 30 days to make contact with the Board and arrange terms to make good on those fines before letters from the attorney will be sent. Following those letters, failure to address the situation will force the board to begin the process of placing a lien on your property in the amount fined, plus attorney's fees and filing fees.
Please note that the Board takes covenant enforcement seriously, as properly maintaining our homes collectively increases property values for all residents!!

As we prepare for the spring planting and growing season, the Board would like to remind all homeowners and residents of Section 20 of the SCHOA Bylaws, parts B and C:
B. A professionally installed landscape package must be installed upon the completion of each home in a manner satisfactory to the Board of Directors.
C. Each lot must be kept neatly mowed, trimmed, edged, and weeded at regular intervals so as to keep the appearance of the home clean, neat and orderly.
In order to maintain the tidy appearance of our neighborhood and protect the value of our collective investments in our homes and land, the Board will be very actively enforcing the Bylaws related to appearance of lawns and landscaping. Please make the extra effort to put in the necessary time to keep your yard trimmed and weed-free and to care for your landscaping trees and planting beds. For those unable to properly care for your lawn, the Board will be happy to recommend some lawn-maintenance companies to assist you.
Those homeowners who fail to meet the minimum standard of lawn care will be reminded with written warnings, followed by fines and the potential of liens against your property for unpaid fines. Please help us all to show the pride that we have in our wonderful neighborhood by giving each home in Silver Creek a neat, tidy, cared-for appearance!! (RJA 2011.05.19)
